Someone has referred to the fingerless chap as 'Clarky'. Is that our/WHO's clarky??

Re: West Ham fan loses finger from celebrating
Crassus. Yeah, I missed out that wedding rings etc getting caught on the hooks ripped the fingers off.

Gravity and a 13 stone fullback a bit too much for a mere digit.

Funny you should say that
When my lad played for a local side, our lot were fannying about awaiting the other side one day when they started jumping up to swing on the cross bar
I warned them not to but predictably there is always one who carries on, I had barely got 'there'll be tears' out before there were
Silly fucker hooked his middle finger from the inside of the top knuckle and peeled the skin off on descent like a banana
Much dad banter about the regret of loosing his middle digit and plenty of smug I told you so
Grown up to be a top bloke but still known by 'Fingers' as Christened that very moment

Well, I didn't expect that.

My respect for you has gone up a notch or two.

Would be more, but for the length of time it took for you to post something decent on the matter.

Ha Ha ha…. I’ll give you that one… I run a vets footy team… my old side I played for and have been a part of the furniture for over 30 years… we got promoted last season up into the Prem… I have not got a fucking clue how some of my old team mates can still do it against ex-pros and ex semi pros and give them 20 odd years… not often I am in awe but fair play all the old boys still managing get a pair of boots on… I last kicked a ball at Roots Hall in a charity game 8 or 9 years ago… I still had no feeling in my legs nearly 10 days later… It was then I remembered why I gave up 10 years before that (prolapsed disc)…. Like I tell our mob geep… do it for as long as you possibly can because you sure are a long time retired

Chronologically, NS is younger than me.

Doesn't stop him coming across as an old git, jealous of the "youngsters" still enjoying themselves.

Re: West Ham fan loses finger from celebrating
I sliced open my wrist playing 6-a-side while wearing a watch. It got caught in the mesh curtain used to separate pitches.

For about twenty years I had to explain to new girlfriends that I wasn't a failed suicide.

(Of course, this wasn't a daily occurrence like it would be for COYI)

Luckily, the scar faded over the years. Unfortunately, the supply of girlfriends has done the same.

Clarky is in the Eurostar terminal now.

He had the finger fully amputated and discharged himself. The hospital wanted to keep him in for 10 days.

I've heard about park footballers jumping up to attach or remove goal nets from the crossbar hooks doing the same.

Never seen it myself.

Apologies - the moment I posted I then saw more photos of the geezer with his finger reattached.
it didn’t look real from the initial footage.

Hope your mate is ok ?

Ouch, similar happened to me when I was a kid. Was roller skating not very well, grabbed onto a fence to stop myself and my ring caught and pulled the skin off my finger.
